Charles F Lewis Clockwise Self Supported
Got to the trail late since I had to work all day. Stashed some water on the course before I began. So didn’t start till 645ish. Only had like an hour or so of daylight. Did take a headlamp just in case. Was worried the trail would be shadowed over because of the valley its in making trail hard to read. Also it was like 75 degrees so was worried about snakes in the boulders. Luckily I didn’t see any but I did pay attention just in case they were in a crack. The briers are getting to wild another week or two and trail will be done for a while. Will need carhartts to run it. Felt alright, legs were kind of beat from day before. Did have a rough time the last half mile to finish. The shadows played a big factor in reading the trail. Couldn’t tell where to step. With it being the sheer cliff section couldn’t risk going to fast and falling down. It is really a scary sheer cliff with just inches to run on. I got it done though and knocked some time off the unsupported attempt.
