FKT: Devon Yanko - Rio Grande Trail (CO) - 2022-09-07

Have been wanting to run the whole Rio Grande since we stayed in Glenwood Springs last year and decided today was the day. I planned on running by feel but thought I would be much closer to 8 min pace. Was pleasantly surprised by how smooth I felt and was thankful that it was relatively cool for the first 3.5 hours. I had my husband meet me at mile 17 and mile 26 for refuels and hydration. Got really hot there in the last 16 miles and when I finished it was 88 degrees. I ran out of water for the last 5 miles which made it a less than pleasant final push. Tried to have my husband meet me again but we missed each other. Happy with putting up a solid time for this route, was as fun as I had hoped it would be!
