Lovely day for the run, perhaps a little warm but plenty of shaded sections through the woods meant it wasn't too bad. I set off at 9.30am which was later than my last effort and meant it was a little busier which wasn't ideal - particularly going through Dorking as road crossings a little trickier and required a bit of pedestrian dodging but didnt really cause any big issues.

The road out of Dorking was also busier and had to stop once or twice to let cars past but again didn't cost me much more than 10-20 seconds. Going was very good in once into the main off road sections approaching Leith Hill. Dry weather meant all the paths were firm underfoot. Pretty good pace between Leith and Holmbury Hill - this time I took the hiking path up from the road to the top of the hill - last time I made the mistake of going up the mountain bike track which was a bit more difficult.

The long gradual downhill from the top of Holmbury was good although made a slight nav error, running on paths slightly to left (West) of where I should have gone but managed to cut across on a mountain bike path and didnt cost me much time. From there to finish pretty straightforward and no issues.

Overall, quicker than last time but I think it would be possible to shave a bit more time off. Main lessons (if I did it again) would be to set off a bit earlier (i.e. quieter through Dorking), do it on a slightly cooler day and also didn't need all the water I carried.
