the perfect little mountain! i’ve been dreaming about this one for a while. i had low expectations after how bad i felt over the weekend, but i wanted to give the N arete a proper go before the end of my sierra season. route-finding on the approach went way better than i had expected (i sort of just followed my nose), but i was still about a minute slower than Meika’s split. i tried to keep things smooth on the arete and traverse, and i reached the S summit with about a 20-30 second buffer, this was when i realized that it was actually in reach. i did a mix of crab-walking (crab-running?), jumping, and sliding down the class three bit to the base of the crag, then i ran as fast as i dared down the slabs and through the forest trying not to turn an ankle. i’m pretty stoked on this effort, can’t wait to see who goes for it next!
28:54 to the S summit, 43:18 pavement-to-pavement. 43:06 on the strava segment
