As part of the training for a race that could be more than 24 hours I planned to do an all-night-long run. Great Western trail was a logical choice, as it is close to home and I know it well. I took an idea from Tommy and Josh to park my car in the "middle" - it was Hanson Rd parking for me. I started running toward Sycamore at 9:15 PM (yes, 21:15) on Friday June 26, 2026. Couple years ago (after the route was created here) Great Western trail was extended further west, so I decided to keep running till I reached the "new" Western point. This added 2.5 miles to the route and 28 min 36 sec to my total time. After running back to the car I had a short break to eat and re-pack my water and gels for the last 13 miles (to Leroy Oakes and back). Turn around there was quick - just short stop to take couple pictures. I was back to the car close to 4 o'clock in the morning of Saturday June 27, 2026. I did continue my training run till after sunrise, but it was recorded separately. Sorry, it is hard to take good pictures during the night.
