Completed North to South.
Had this route on my mind for a little while so thought I’d give it a crack in the nice weather. Far too hot and as such it ended up taking a lot longer than planned. Welcomed relief when the sun set but lowest temp through the night was 17C.
Found plenty of places to top up water on route but a few closer to Carlisle were of slightly questionable quality.
Was not a fan of all the stiles and farmland on the way into Ulverston.
All in all an enjoyable day out but not one I’m in a rush to repeat.
Train to Carlisle in the morning then bus back from Ulverston made this about as solo as an adventure can be but did make for an anticlimactic end to the 23 hours.
