"The Cumbria Way is a linear long distance footpath in CumbriaEngland passing through the towns of Coniston and Keswick. It also passes through the Langdale and Borrowdale valleys. The majority of the route is inside the boundaries of the Lake District National Park.

This 112 km route through the heart of the Lake District National Park links the two historic Cumbrian towns of Ulverston and Carlisle. The route cuts through classic Lakeland country via ConistonLangdaleBorrowdaleDerwent Water, Skiddaw Forest and Caldbeck. It is a primarily low-level long distance footpath but does contain some high-level exposed sections."

There is a race of the entire Cumbria Way held each year, so supported FKTs are likely to be set in the race.  The race website tracks these:  http://www.pureoutdoorsevents.co.uk/index.php/the-cumbria-way-ultra (we do not generally track FKTs set in races since the race websites do that).

Came up short by ~26mins. Big kudos to Jacob for establishing such a strong FKT on this route.

Hard to say where it went wrong, but coming over High Pike was slow with rough weather. Once I'd slowed here it was hard to pick the pace back up on the flats/harder surfaces coming into Carlisle knowing I was likely to miss the FKT. Couple of pace pushes only highlighted how depleted I was! Overall, happy to come as close as I did. Well done Jacob.

Helly Powell and myself plan to attempt a mixed gender self supported team FKT on the 14/6/2022 we are aiming for a sub 50 hour time.
