That was much more challenging than I anticipated! I went clockwise, and had I read through the plethora of info provided by the other runners, I’d have known better. The Dutton cliffs on both sides were brutal and no-fall, and had I anticipated that, I wouldn’t have wasted so much adrenaline with the surprise of climbing up and down shitty rock and loose crumbleknockers.
The weather was a bit warmer than anticipated. I ran on the road more than expected to save some energy. I loved the view from Cloudcap. Bahaha- is that really a peak? For real the views from Applegate and Hillman were my favorite.
Going up Dutton was so brutal, after the cliffs was just sandy slope and every step hurt. I took a break going up Applegate to evaluate my life choices.
It was a great challenging day!
