I ran the Rideau Trail from Ottawa to Kingston beginning at about 8:30 am on Thursday, Oct. 7th and finishing early Sunday morning. The clock time we recorded was 2 days, 16 hours, 38 minutes, and 13 seconds.
Throughout the run my crew meeting me every 15 to 20 km. I also had a pacer, Adam Bird, who ran with me on night 1, then on night 2 to the finish.
I was fortunate to have good weather. The days weren't too hot and the nights weren't too cold. We encountered some wet sections, but not much mud.
I didn't sleep until night 2, where I took a 15 minute nap in the car, then a few 3-5 minute naps on trail, then a 45 minute nap in the car, for a total sleep time of just a bit over an hour for the run.
