I had completed this route once before with Chris (up Ding, down Dang), but I decided to scout it again in both directions prior to going for time. I decided that I liked up-climbing Dang better and descending Ding- get the technical stuff out of the way first and then open up the legs down Ding. It takes a lot of energy to run in the sand in the washes! Did not bring any food or water. This was a good time of year to run them. Last time, there was a lot more water in Dang, but it was bone dry this time.
