This was the perfect challenge for a Sunday morning before having to drive home. I was lucky enough to have my brother with me for the weekend so he agreed to be my driver for the day which likely saved me a minute or two of transition time in the parking lots.
Started soon after the sun came up so the trails were all still empty and it had gotten below freezing the night before so what little mud there was had a nice crust. Conditions were a bit icy at the top of Arab but Goodman and Coney were great conditions. A slow truck through Tupper Lake kept us honest for the driving time. Felt good on Arab and Goodman but faded a bit towards the top of Coney.
My brother wanted to do the challenge as well but at a more relaxed pace so I gave him a headstart on Arab while I got ready at the car. Then he skipped Goodman and did Coney after dropping me off. After he finished Coney, we both went up Goodman together but at a more relaxed pace than my first time.
Had a little chocolate bar in the car during each of the two transitions and drank maybe a half a litre of water. Brought some water with me on the run but never needed it.
