I have wanted to do this run for quite some time but always ended up doing other things. This spring I finally got around to it.
I will be running Manitou's revenge at the end of June and wanted there to be leafs on the trees for this run. That ended up giving me a smaller than ideal window and I decided to run this on a rainy day. Very bad idea.
Shlippery rocks and very poor visibility at night made this a very slow attempt. I plan to run it again on a nice day eventually...
For anywhos that want to do this, pick a dry day and hours will come off my time. I also believe northbound would be the faster direction. I did film quite a bit of the different types of trail along the way if that is helpful for anyone who has not seen the entire route. That video is on my YouTube and should be linked here.
As for water, I took one bottle up to kirkridge shelter where I filled four bottles refilling again at Leroy smith shelter, the spring south of the Lehigh River and for the final time at Allentown shelter. They were all long stretches but pretty easily done and manageable.
All in all it was a good day, a slow day but a good day.
