The big climbs are in the first third and natural water sources can be scarce. We were fortunate with water at Pine Mnt Lodge (mile 6.5) and Ceder Creek (mile 12 and 21ish after the Thorn Point out and back) . It warms up significantly through the middle 15 or so miles on the way through Mutau Flats to Johnston ridge - which is a long exposed decent back to the hot springs. Water here is HOT and Hot Springy - best to filter at next fresh water back at the Sespe itself with 12 miles to go. It was a good day for it but the heat still wore us down and made us drag our feet back in. Thanks to Francois for the bad idea.
