Report

I ran this route supported & southbound last month, starting at 5 AM on May 25th from the gate at the Mt. Minsi trailhead parking lot, and finishing around 1 AM the next day at the Port Clinton trailhead parking lot. I included the blue-blazed side trail that takes you from the AT to the Port Clinton parking lot in my elapsed time. It was a clear day with moderate temperatures, so everything went pretty well. There's plenty of road crossings but few water sources, making the route great for supported runs or self-supported efforts with food and water caches. I underestimated just how rocky this route was. There are plenty of seemingly benign, half-mile stretches of completely flat trail covered in baseball- to basketball-sized rocks that are nearly impossible to run quickly on. This is presumably the first FKT (OKT?) for this route, but I'm excited to see what a fast runners could actually throw down here.
