A self supported triple round of the Yorkshire 3 peaks, just the two of us with no external support.
Starting from Horton in Ribblesdale we chose an anti clockwise direction for each of the loops.
We parked at the Yorkshire Dales National Park carpark and used it as a 'base-camp'. After each loop we refilled our packs with fluids and nutrition whilst taking advantage of the stop to eat something more substantial. We also collected water on a couple of river crossings and going up Ingleborough.
We didn't set out to do a triple as such, more a case of doing another double with the option to carry on but a few niggles on the third loop ended any thoughts about going out on a forth. A quadruple is still something we want to try at some point.
Highlights were a very windy Whernside and numerous chats we had on the day with other hikers. Absolutely loved it!
