Start the journey on May 1st planned as a self supported attempt with a running stroller packed with all the gear I would need for my trip. Arrived to the southern terminus and began my journey at 6:24 am. Day one began went smoothly until lodging plans fell through and ended up having to sleep on the side of the trail for the night in a thunderstorm. Ended the day with 55 miles total. Day 2 was hot but completed my goal of reaching London Ohio with roughly a total of 98 miles on the trip and slept at The London Guest House for the night. Day 3 was the wettest day of the Trip and the day I decided to modify my trip to supported as there were many runners from my home town wanting to run with me and I was lonely. I finished the night in Westerville with a total of 140 miles on the trip and stayed at a motel. Day 4 was the nicest day of the journey and the shortest. I went from Westerville to Mt Vernon Ohio with 35 miles on the day and 175 for the trip stayed in a hotel that night. Day 5 was also a nice day with the weather until a flash thunderstorm two miles from my finish destination in Millersburg Ohio for 40 miles on the day and 215 miles on the trip stayed in another hotel. Day 6 was another long day as I wanted to finish the trip in less than a week so needed to make it to Canal Fulton to make the final day manageable. The mileage total on the day was around 48 and 263 on the trip and I stayed with family that lives near the trail since the trip was now supported. Day 7 the final day. This was the biggest day for the trip with over 60 miles I started at 5:00 am and made very slow progress to start the day and emotions were flowing. This was what seemed to be the hottest day of the trip. Spirits picked up as the miles rolled by and was joined by some local runners which helped get out of a mental low and started to move well as I move out of CVNP and headed into Cleveland. The running started to fell effortlessly and I started to see the skyline and remaining miles clicked under 10. I crossed over a bridge near the end and caught my first sight of Lake Erie. The remaining 1.5 or so miles along the lake to Edgewater park were gorgeous and I competed my journey. Following completing the trail I ran down the beach and pushed my stroller into the lake and sat next to it in water and watched the sunset, a fitting end to a long journey.
