The Ohio to Erie Trail is a scenic 326-mile trail that traverses the state of Ohio from Cincinnati to Cleveland and connects the Ohio River to Lake Erie, primarily on rail trails and canal paths. It passes through four major cities in Cincinnati, Columbus, Akron, and Cleveland. The trail also passes through many quaint small towns and miles of the Ohio countryside. Trail construction began in 1991 primarily integrating former rail trails and multi-use trails into a one large dedicated trail system. The Ohio to Erie Trail has over 90% dedicated bike trails, 3.6% streets, and 5.9% rural roads.
