George Heinrichs set a new FKT time for the "standard" hut traverse of 12h38m in July 2011. Heinrichs confirmed this in an email to Peter Bakwin on August 28, 2014: "I did the Traverse in 2011 in mid/late July. I started at about 5:15am at Carter Notch Hut and ended at Lonesome Lake Hut. My route was 19 Mile Brook, to Great Gulf, to Mad Gulf, to Gulfside, to West Side, to Crawford, to Mizpah, to Mizpah Cut Off, to A-Z to Twin Way, to Garefield Ridge, to Greenleaf, to Old Bridal Path, to Lonesome Lake Trail. It felt good, I gotta say. Had Anders Nordbloom of Greenleaf Hut pace me from Greenleaf to Lonesome. Total time door to door was 12:38. The year before I had done 14:15 with a friend. I hiked down that evening, got driven back to my car at Carter, and ate in Gorham. Bacon Cheese Burger, large Sam Adams, and onion rings at Mr. Pizza."
