On 26 July 2026, I completed the Medebacher Bergweg as part of a training weekend in the Sauerland region. I started at a different point along the route because it was closer to where I was staying. I began my attempt at 08:35.

It was a cloudy day with comfortable temperatures for running. I experienced a few drops of rain along the way, but nothing significant.

I carried three litres of water and enough food for the entire route. At approximately kilometre 45, I refilled my water supply from a publicly accessible tap at a cemetery. This refill was definitely necessary, as three litres for the first 45 kilometres proved to be slightly insufficient.

The route was well maintained, and I did not encounter any significant obstacles or unexpected circumstances. It mainly consists of gravel and asphalt roads, with a few enjoyable sections of singletrack along the way.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would definitely recommend this route.
