The run from Hraunhafnartangi lighthouse in the north to Dyrholaey lighthouse in the south following the east coast took in 460miles with elevation over 28k feet.
With me and providing water and food when required from a vehicle was Michael Porter-Nash.
The run was characterized by extreme highs and lows in many respects. The weather varied from low sun which burned the skin, to negative temperatures, days of rain and hail, days of constant mist.
The terrain and geology was stunning along the route, waterfalls, volcanic structures, glaciers, icebergs, rock formations, geothermal fissures.
The start location was 1.5 miles south of the Arctic circle, sparsely populated areas….the finish a hot tourist spot to witness my deteriorating body complete the final steps.
My run was solo and supported.
