Began 8:30am at the Lyle Trailhead. Headed into the canyons with a cool and clear morning. Beautiful views of the Klickitat River but kept eyes glued to path ahead given small, slick rocks.
Ran into trouble after passing Klickitat with ice sheets under the re-frozen snowpack. Slipped twice and landed on my ruck. Luckily, made it the two or three miles over snowpack unscathed.
Was initially planning the out-and-back but was exhausted chasing the one-way FKT and didn't want to tempt fate on the snowpack so called it a day. Really wonderful father-daughter pair picked me up in their Ford F-150 and drove me thirty miles down canyon to my car.
I'll try again for the out-and-back mark after the spring thaw :-)
