Set out from the Port of Everett public boat launch and headed north along Marine Drive (Highway 529) and followed the road across the Snohomish River into Marysville. Turned onto East 528 and ran along 76th and 72nd heading northeast then linked up with 84th street for several miles due east. Onto Granite Falls Highway 92 north to East Quarry Road then Mountain Loop Highway for 11 miles before reaching the Mount Pilchuck access road for 6+ miles of mixed concrete and gravel road. Arrived at the Mount Pilchuck trailhead and put my head down for the last 2,000ft of vert. Reached the fire lookout atop Mount Pilchuck at 7:11:24.

Traveled solo and unsupported the whole way in my Brooks Cascadia 15's. Carried pretzels and GU along with 2L of Gatorade in my Osprey Duro 15 ruck without any resupply. Was fortunate to have cool, overcast weather or else dehydration would have loomed larger (didn't see any public water fountains though wasn't looking until approached Pilchuck). Hung out at the fire lookout atop Pilchuck's pinnacle for thirty minutes until I got chilled and made my way back down. Hitch hiked back to my car in Everett with two sweet nurses who also enjoyed their mountain adventure. Overall, a special effort and lots of fun!
