This morning I ran the beautiful route from Salisbury to Winchester along the Clarendon Way. There are a few variations between the signed route and the previously set #fkt, but having always taken the longer and hillier one I'm confident that I've definitely gone over and above to set my fastest known time. It was crazy to have a few areas of mud for the first time in ages, especially as I was in road shoes, and as you get close to Winchester the number of dog walkers and mountain bikers create a few hazards.
However, it's an easily navigable beautiful morning's run, and I really enjoyed just being on my own with nature (sounds so hippy I know) and saying hi to the occasional like minded person. It's also interesting popping out into "civilisation" every now and then.
I ran completely unsupported as it's easy enough to carry all the water that you need for this, even in the summer, but I was very grateful to my lovely husband for dropping me off at the start - and even more for picking me back up at the end!
Overall a lovely morning meander and a great way to feel a sense of purpose on it.
