En route to the roundtrip FKT. Broken Top is my favorite mountain in Central Oregon, largely due to how variable the terrain is. There is smooth gradual trail, steep rocky ridgeline, a brief section of 3rd/4th/5th class, and a heavenly 1000 foot descent of perfect cascade scree.

It is worth noting that Matt Palilla has the Strava crowns for the Broken Top Ascent and Roundtrip (https://www.strava.com/activities/1755086054/overview). On that effort however, he did not go to the true summit, skipping the final ~200 feet of technical (class 3+) terrain. However, his split to the base of the summit block appears to be ~15sec faster than mine (1:15:15 vs. 1:15:30). Hopefully someone soon can re-set the FKT and split faster than Matt en route!
