I started at the west entry and ran east, towards Idaho, following the established route with a couple of variations on the detours. I used the official detours from www.palousetocascadestrail.org and was able to use the Cow Creek Crossing detour for the missing trestle over Cow Creek on the way to Marengo.as it was open and available this time of year. Most detours were easy enough to follow, although I did have trouble finding the trailhead in Warden after that road detour. I walked a few extra blocks looking for the trail entry.
I was supported by one crew member in a vehicle and had no pacers. Sleeping happened in the crew vehicle right off the trail (overnight parking/camping allowed) on most nights, the exception being a hotel in Cle Elum on night 1. I staked out on that night and also staked out on night 5, where I went to Rosalia City Park to shower and camp. Because I staked out, my gpx files are in 3 sets. To track my run, I used my Coros watch and used a Garmin Inreach for safety as well.
