Missed Jordan’s time by ~5 minutes, but technically nabbed the unsupported FKT in 5:32:35. Moving time was prolly 5:28ish, definitely not 5:08.
Started off well, albeit faster than planned. Was within 3-4 minutes of each goal split through Lafayette. That last stretch of Garfield Ridge saw EVERYTHING cramping up though. Couldn’t run steeper sections past that. Bad fueling probably played a role in that. Was only able to stomach 3 Clif Bars all day plus water and some electrolytes at Galehead. Was somehow able to stay somewhat on pace until the last climbs up Liberty and Flume. Was 10 minutes back of where I wanted to be on Flume, but kept it together enough to push the downhill for a solid time.
Bummed to miss the A goal, but hard to be upset about this as a first race effort on trail. Probably hardest physical effort I’ve ever put forward just to not stop on the ridge near the end.
