I'm very happy to find a good weather condition day to get this trail in before it's too late. The snow melted due to the 2 warm days before. The temps the day of were around freezing, which helped some of the mucky sections. I made the hour drive and parked at Devil's Glen Country Club. I ran the trail for my warm up so I could start at the rock and hit the big downhill first. I got things started at 7:30 and started bombing downhill. It was a little shock to the system, but felt good. I completed the short road section and then make my way back towards the ski resort. This is where the mud was. I managed it the best I could. I made it to the parking lot and turned around at the blue T blaze. It was more of the same on the way back until the road section. This is where the fun started. It was all uphill until the finish. I ran a steady pace as much as I could. I did power hike 2 of the steeper sections. I felt like I wasn't running much faster than I would have hiked anyway. I forced myself to run up the last steep part right before the finish. I was breathing pretty hard for sure. I finished in 36:02 and was happy with the effort. I took the Bruce Trail back to my car and that was it. Solid, fun morning.
