This is a hometown trail for me that I've done many times. Started on a windy, Friday morning. Everything kind of went as expected. After focusing on long stuff, going and doing something short certainly isn't easy. The trip down to the tip was going as expected until I noticed there was a fence blocking the entrance to the tip at the end of the road. There was a park officer there in a truck. I actually stopped and asked him if the tip was closed right now. That would have been very disappointing since the fkt is to the tip. Luckily, the other path was open which was just slightly west. So I took that and had the whole tip to myself. Enjoyed the view quickly and made my way back. This is when my body let me know it wasn't ready to run this pace for this distance. But I did the best I could and just kind of held on. I'm sure I'll try and improve my time at some point. Good way to start the fkt season and get one under my belt. Time to start thinking about the next one...
