I ran the Cumbria Way starting at Ulverston on 16 July, 1988 @ 08.08 and finished on 17 July, 1988@ 07.35 so completing the run in 23 hours and 33 minutes.
I was a Vet 35 at the time as my date of birth is 04/03/1953.
I was supported on the fell by the following athletes -

Road support was provided by friends and family including David and Sam Robinson, Margaret Gunning and Sue Murphy. They provided food and water when the route was accessible to vehicles.
No Strava etc in those days but I have a breakdown of the timings on each leg and photographs on a special memento which was presented to me afterwards. This challenge was also reported in local newspapers because it was a fund raising effort for a local charity.
There was no other record of a female runner completing the Cumbria Way in under 24 hours at that time.
