Camp Tuscazoar is one of my favorite places to run trails. It is worth the trip. However, be prepared to do a lot of trial and error if you attempt this FKT. This was probably my 6th time, maybe more. There are so many overlapping trails that it is hard to be sure that you are on the right one. To aid those who may want to attempt this, the original guidelines do not clearly indicate that after you pass the wall, turn right, and go up the little trail (this all happens right after 4 miles), you actually exit the path to the left and cut over to a portion of the Zoarite Mine Trail that briefly runs parallel after you crest the little hill. Take that path leftward.

Another significant unclarity is that the original description directs runners to follow the markers for Icky’s Hike, but there are significant departures from a strict following of Icky’s Hike. Any places that suggest that there is a hard route straight up a hill, or an easy route with switchbacks, take the hard route. There are several switchbacks that are entirely ignored on Icky’s Route.
