I started from the edge of the pavement at Camp 4.
My body was still feeling tense and heavy from guiding 3 days on Mt Shasta just two days prior to this effort, but this was my window so I had to make a go!
Took off...well, aggressively. Made decent time through the steep, techy, rocky switchbacks of the first three miles
Landmarks:
Made the metal signs at the top of the Upper Yosemite Falls climb in 52:43
Saw two more metal signs for El Capitan the first a left turn, the second a right.
Made summit of El Capitan at 1:44:41
Took 8 minutes to poke around up top and see the views
Back down to the sign at the top of the switchbacks at 2:31:15
Back at the lot in 3:05:25
I definitely blew up on this. For myself I think I could cut 20 minutes off. A crusher out there is going to take this sub2hr for sure.
