Ran the Cheyanne Mountain 25k two days ago, so obviously it’s a great idea to try for an FKT two days after. Peyton drove me to Petrified Forest to try and take this FKT at Devil’s Playground. Left the phone with Peyton and relied on my trusty Suunto 7….Trail was hard to follow after mile 2.5 due to petroglyphs along the GPS track. Didn’t want to go on them, so a little bit of route finding was necessary. GPS was also wonky as it kept throwing me around places that were obviously off trail. Running on sand/mud for almost 7 miles was an interesting experience but still made for an excellent trip!
