Started from Porteau Cove shortly before sunrise, and tried to enjoy the first several kms of "easier" terrain before the muddy/wet root-y/mossy rock-y slip and slide on the HSCT began. Slowed down significantly traversing David when I became borderline hypothermic (too cold to move legs well, or even open nutrition or use my fingers or feet) but fortunately warmed up as the morning worn on! Had some early views of Howe Sound, but everything was completely socked in from David to Cypress Resort. Massively appreciated the change into dry socks and shoes at Cypress (thanks to my crew!). The rest was a nice easy cruise along BP - HSCT always makes other terrain look easy in comparison - with a bonus visit from some friends at Mtn Hwy to put a smile on my face! Despite the overall muddy/slippery/sometimes unpleasant conditions, had a great day out there.
