2 days before the attempt I hiked the route with my partner to check out the route and terrain, noticing a few deviations in the route.
On the day of the attempt we went up to the seiser alm at 8 in the morning, because after 9 you can't drive up the mountain anymore, you have to take the cable lift. After getting ready I started the run in clockwise direction, with the first bit going pretty easy to warm up. When the first hill started it was on asphalt before going to a single track towards the first "hutte". After the first climb there's a small plateau before going back down from the skilift. There's the first deviation I had to take, since the original track goes steeper downhill, but that part was being grazed by cattle now. I had to take a longer (less steep) switchback going out a bit further.
Downwards towards the sportshotel and past it is another deviation from the original route, around minute 37 I had to take a longer route, since the original route was again blocked by cattle. I suspect the deviation is permanent since no trace of the old route is left and the new route is well managed. At minute 38:20 there's again another deviation where the original route is supposed to go straight, but the deviation again seems permanent since the new route is well managed and no trace is found of the old route. There's a small climb and a little plateau again before going down to the lowest point of the route, hotel Saltria. They're renovating the hotel, so part of the trail was closed and I had to go around the renovations. This was the last (small) deviation of the route. All deviations were at least the same length, if not longer than the original trail.
Right after the hotel the road starts to go uphill again, for around 4km towards the Panorama hotel, which is the second big peak of the trail. The last part of the climb is an out and back part, before running down to the starting point again.
I started out pretty hard, but in the end I needed the buffer for the last climb. Great trail and great views, would definitely recommend!
