Big Foot Beach State Park is a few miles off trail and made for a great base camp the night before the FKT attempt. I started bright and early (to beat the heat and the crowds) and ran the loop in a clockwise direction. I had 2 pacers that ran intermittently with me as well as a support car that met me every 3ish miles to supply water. The trail itself is not terribly rugged, but it is challenging in a unique way as each property owner is responsible for maintaining their segment of the trail. This means that the terrain constantly varies, which keeps you on your toes (literally).
