Carissa and I started from currie road east bound at the kiosk at 0825. We carried all our own gear food and water.
We hit the north horn spur feeling decent and enjoyed a quick bite to eat.
We held an ok pace and had a great solid day thru the climb to West Bigelow. At this point Carissa unfortunately got hit with really bad cramps so we began to slow as the trip progressed. We still took in the gorgeous views and she is a total warrior who pushed thru the pain and managed to keep making forward progress. We filled our water bottles from a trail side puddle on Avery peak. We made a short stop at the old man's head lookout as others have previously.
We managed to push thru the cramps, keep going and hitting the road at 1438. We feel like 5.30 was what we would have posted but this was a good first day on the range as a team.
