I started well and felt great. Outbound from the south to north was uneventful. A few miles into the return trip, I felt stiff and slowed fairly significantly. I had to work harder to squeak under the current FKT time for the Out and Back. My phone battery went dead about six miles from the finish but, luckily, I made the right turns to complete the correct route. There are several intersections with no signage so it helps to have the route on your phone or watch.
Good weather today. I carried a two liter bladder of Tailwind and some gels. I drank most of the liquid but only ate one gel, which was not enough. Route is pretty fast with some rolling hills. Consists of a mix of concrete and dirt/cinder pathways, all car-width wide.
I hope to return sometime and put my best foot forward.
