Great route through the heart of Omaha! I started at the trail intersection with Pine Street near my hotel. Then, I ran to the northern end, then to the southern end, and back north to my starting point.
There were two sections of the trail that were re-routed due to trail maintenance activities. The distance was slightly longer with one additional bridge crossing just south of Pine Street. The other difference was a short trail closure for laying new concrete near Rose Blumkin Drive.
It started cold but warmed up nicely and ended up being a beautiful, sunny day. Lots of others on the trail running, walking, and cycling. I also saw a ton of geese and ducks both on and near the trail and in the Papillion Creek.
I carried all my food and fluids although it would be possible to divert on the northern end of the trail to resupply.
