I passed through Omaha on my Amtrak train journey from Chicago to Denver. Over-nighted at the Marriott Courtyard in Aksarben Village, just 0.3 miles from the route.
It was a cold Sunday morning with very few people on the trail, mostly dog walkers. I did pass hundreds of geese on and along the trail. I thought they would have migrated south for the winter. Conditions were much different from the last time I ran this route. Under and over a couple of bridges, there was ice where I needed to slow down my pace significantly. Otherwise, the conditions were excellent for fast running.
My hip flexor became very tight with about five miles to go, so I slowed my pace at that point. I know I can run several minutes faster another time.
I did not carry any fluid or fuel this time.
