I lowered my own FKT from last June. This time I knew the course although I did hesitate at one point and double-checked the GPX file on my phone. Mostly, I powered up knowing the way. Toward the top you need to go right and then it's a rock scramble to the summit. Rocks were a little slicker from what I experienced last summer, however the temperature was much cooler. I do have better climbing fitness from all my Manitou Inclines so that is likely the main reason for the 34 second time reduction.
The descent is treacherous with sharp, slippery, unstable rocks! I do not want to attempt the round trip FKT.
