Got a nice early start - a bit chilly and breezy, but a nice tail wind for most of the run. Got a little crossed up in Burlington so I did a bit of a switch-back to make sure I did not short the course. Then I got stuck by a train for 3 minutes! And when that one finally was almost past me, it started to slow down so I ran to the left until the last car passed me - then I needed to get past the OTHER train cars parked on the other tracks. Decided to go up and over them, and not under, which was prudent since THAT ONE started to move slowly whilst I was on it! Got off laughing and finished off the run. As I train for the Tunnel Hill 100, I will be back this summer to do this again, but this time the OUT and BACK!
I ran this unsupported with two hydration bottles and 4 gels - despite this being early spring, the route was dry and not too rutted up from walkers and bikers.
Great trail!
