I set off on a perfect Sunday afternoon (4/25/2021) to push the pace on one of my favorite local trails, the Jordan Valley Pathway (AKA "Jordan River Pathway"). I ran alone, unsupported, and the 2L hydration bladder and a couple of granola bars I packed in my vest was enough to get me through the 18+ mile loop without stopping for natural water (which is available along the route via the Jordan River and tributary creeks). The cool spring weather, blue skies, scenic cedar swamps, and spring-time feel of the lush leeks, trout lilies and trilliums blanketing the forest floors gave me plenty to look at and enjoy while I ran. This was my second completion of this loop. Unfortunately, the first time (last year) I was with a buddy and he broke his ankle... but was tough as nails and still ran the 7 miles out. Fortunate for no injuries this time!
