I started on the northern trail head gate of Horseshoe Loop (single track dirt). I stayed to the left path on Quarry Loop, Bull Creek Loop, Coyote Run, and Group Camp hiking trail. These are all the hiking and/or mountain biking trails and avoids the equestrian trails. I stayed left (i.e. clockwise) and continued back along the high side trails throughout.  I finished in the same place as the start to close the horseshoe to make a full 8 mile “loop” .  This route is all single track dirt except the final 100 yrs or so needed to close the loop and return to the starting trail head. That also makes it approximately 8 miles with approximately 423 feet total ascent. It does not include the paved trails leading from the parking lot to the gated trailhead. I started at dawn and carried approx 15 oz of water and ran solo (except for deer and squirrels and sharing the trail with a few other hikers late in the route).  The BBC single track is generally well marked, but at this time of the season the undergrowth is getting thick making navigation along the lesser used group camp section of trail a bit tricky to navigate.
