fkt legend ben nephew rolled through town a few weeks ago and snagged all the saugatuck fkts - so i figured i would try to get back out there and see what i could do. i had to push pretty hard for this one and i didn't really have much left in the tank at the end - so overall it was great fun!
ran unsupported, 1 liter of tailwind - it was mid 30s so didn't need much to drink. conditions were pretty good overall - quite wet from recent rains but that didn't slow things down too much. a few spots of iced mud which was an unpleasant surprise and almost sent me down one of the steep hills the quick way. also must have seen 30 people out there today which is the most i've ever seen - glad this gem of a trail getting some love.
started from south, which puts 200' more of the ascent on the first half - and tried to run pretty even splits - only went for the out and back fkt.
