Really epic day, we didn't even decide to go for the FKT until we got to Gunsight Lake, so we might've been able to go a bit faster if we had coordinated our pee stops. Once we realized it was within reach, we tried for it! Which was awesome! Power hiked up from the lake and then had an amazing view over the pass with two mountain goats. Felt awesome cruising down to Lake Ellen Wilson and then once again, mostly power hiked up out of there. Over Lincoln Pass, then down to Sperry Chalet (which is ridiculously beautiful). Pet two horses and got ready to cruise down for the last 6 miles. Good practice to just open up the legs and try to let gravity do some work. With 2 miles to go, we heard some LOUD thunder right above us, which scared us a bit and got us moving.
