Description

Gunsight Pass is one of the most popular multi-day routes in Glacier National Park in northwest Montana. There is an extensive history of the Blackfeet Tribe living in these mountains and also home to several species of wildlife including Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goat, and Grizzly Bears. The total distance from Jackson Glacier Overlook to Lake McDonald is roughly 20 miles depending on the watch you're tracking with. It's one of the best places in the Park for wildflowers, glaciers, and big mountain views.

Awesome run! Any idea how hard it would be to get from the SW shore of Lake Ellen Wilson back onto this trail (ideally without any technical rock climbing)? I'm brainstorming for a multi-sport route through here and wondering if you could swim across lake ellen wilson and keep the run going on the other side. Thanks!
