No way I wasn't going to ever this one a go with this FKT route in my backyard! Point to point's are the best. Faster road route, although a few challenging hills as expected such as Peterson Hill. I hadn't started on the beach on the north point, as it would've required trespassing through private property (and no public beach access along this road) including their private beach-access stairway, grass lawn and pickleball court. So I began this at the end of the driveway (17349 address) on Agate St NE, and ended at the lookout bench on South Beach Drive. Ran this completely solo, carrying one handheld soft flask w/ 500mg electrolyte as well as two gels.
Felt pretty strong and timed it with a picturesque, clear Sunday morning. One quick 30-40s bathroom break but otherwise, everything went smoothly.
With this being a road route and a few spots of tighter shoulders on busier roads, I would recommend running this on earlier Sunday mornings. This seems to be the quietest time on the island from what I've noticed over the years!
