I ran this route on a crisp mid-autumn morning. I didn't think trail conditions would be good in the high peaks that weekend, so I decided to finally check out the little peaks of the Tupper Triad that I'd bypassed countless times earlier this summer on my drive east down route 3 to more exciting mountains. I'd hoped to mix things up from the longer routes I'd done earlier in the year and do these at a faster pace, but I was disappointed to find the trails muddy, sloppy, and slow. The temperature was just cold enough for my legs to stiffen up in the car ride between each peak, but not cold enough to harden up the trail. Though I didn't get to enjoy flying down any descents, it was a beautiful day to catch the final bit of foliage on these fun little mountains. I'd like to come back in drier conditions to run these faster!
