I've been dying to make it out to the Trinity Alps for many years and boy, it did not disappoint! Had the trail and peak all to myself and snagged the FKT! Felt good to push it a little without going to the well but was still shaking an annoying dry cough from being sick the week before. Trail was in great shape up until mile 3.4ish where it got really hard to keep and got lost several times 😅 There were quite a few downed trees and only a few patches of snow at the very top that were all easy to navigate over or around with a few small creek crossings sprinkled in. Had to stop to empty my shoes out of some pebbles that kept getting jammed against my toes on the downhill 🥴 Views of Trinity Lake and the peaks all around were stunning and I’m glad I did this on the earlier side cause it was hot by 9am. Epic day!
