I started my watch with my feet on the pavement at the Mount Dana TH, and stopped when my feet hit the pavement of the Mono Pass TH. Other than waving hello to a couple hikers I passed near the summit of Dana, I didn't see any other people. Which is not surprising at all after being on all the loose, off-trail terrain for the first time following the Dana summit.
Pretty slow going due to the terrain, and I'm sure there are much faster lines off Dana under the snow field that's still there right now. I did bring leopards just in case, but I was able to get around it just fine. When I got to Gibbs, I went left to scramble to the summit. The moves were a little more committing, but the rock was bomber. Everything to the right looked easier, but loose and chossy. Then getting down Gibbs to Mono Pass Trail was fairly straightforward.
I got to the summit of Dana in a little over an hour, then it took me about 65min to get over to the summit of Gibbs. I thought this was going to take me closer to 3:30, so I was pleasantly surprised by my effort!
